Riley, an underwater photographer, is asked by past friend and fellow diver Marcus to shoot content for his true crime vlog. To her surprise, they they break into a private lake under cover of night and descend to the scene of a tragic accident: a school bus resting in the depths. Soon they find themselves hunted by an unseen horror… and plagued by a litany of fears.

Thalassophobia is a live-action short film shot entirely in and under the water - and entirely at night. The other-wordly sensation of diving underwater in pitch darkness, paired with the surprisingly common fear of the open ocean, serves as the inspiration for this short film. Shot entirely on location and in the dead of night - our team is working closely with creature designers and VFX artists to bring to life the nightmares the mind can conjure up in dark, unknown spaces.
