Our education system has remained largely unchanged for nearly two centuries, and still relies on a one-size-fits-all model when it comes to teaching in the classroom. Recognizing that no two kids are the same, Demario Davis and others are trying to form a new approach - one that identifies individual learning styles to bring out the unique potential inside every child.

In 1982, Marty Lyons was a core member of the New York Jets legendary defensive line dubbed the “New York Sack Exchange” by both fans and haters alike. Despite the fame and expectations that came with this prestigious role, Marty decided his life had to be more than just his performance on the field and decided to start the Marty Lyons Foundation. Their mission - to bring joy to children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses by helping them accomplish their biggest dreams.
Between daily practice and weekly games, Marty made sure he found the time to connect kids with their personal heroes, persuade teammates to donate blood to their local hospitals, and drive literal truckloads of toys to the children who’s diagnosis kept them from being able to go home.
Two years later, Marty was recognized by the NFL for his excellence both on and off the field and was honored with the 1984 Walter Payton Man of the Year of Award. Now forty plus years later and Marty’s foundation is still going strong - operating in 14 states and having helped over 8600 kids fulfill their wishes.
